In the exhibition “The Weight of Lightness,” Brittany Newlove presents a series of photographs and written fragments that trace an existential inquiry shaped by the philosophy of Albert Camus. Rooted in the tension between the search for meaning and the absurdity of existence, the work reflects a quiet confrontation with the everyday. Through solitary images of urban stillness, fleeting gestures, and stark natural light, the artist captures moments where the ordinary becomes estranged. The accompanying texts—part journal, part philosophical musing—echo Camus’ insistence on lucidity and revolt in the face of the absurd. Together, the visual and written elements form a meditation on presence, alienation, and the fragile beauty of the unresolved.
